  • Do not include a URL to an eBook unless it takes you directly to the book without logging in first
  • There is no period after a DOI or URL

Frequently Asked Questions

I found the book in a library database, like EBSCOhost?

  • APA 7th Edition does not include the name of the database or the permalink from library databases.  Books in the library database usually provide page numbers, so you will most likely use one of the examples above.

What if my Book has more than 20 authors?

  • If you have more than 20 authors include the names of the first 19, insert an ellipsis...and then add the final author's name. You will not need to use an ampersand & in this reference. The in-text citation will be (last name of the first author et all., publication date).
